The popular how-to Web site WikiHow has an entry advising the public on the best way to communicate their problem to a physician. The goal is to provide the most relevant information in an efficient way and not to assume you know your own diagnosis.

Other suggestions include collecting pertinent medical information, writing down symptoms, and accurately describing pain.

A wiki is a group-edited Web site that allows all users to edit and revise entries. The goal is a self-policed site that offers information that the general public understands to be true.
