In an effort to boost proper hand hygiene practices in one of its member hospitals, the South Carolina Hospital Association developed the "Grime Scene Investigation" campaign and will soon be using it with public audiences, reports The State. The Grime Scene Investigators have been trained to educate both healthcare providers as well as the general public on the best hand hygiene practices. The campaign originally was targeted at a Palmetto Health facility in 2007 after a survey revealed that only 40% of staff members practiced proper hand hygiene. The South Carolina Hospital Association is hoping the campaign will raise awareness at other facilities.
