Patients encouraged to question phsyicians on safety
Patient Safety Monitor Alert
May 2, 2007
Australian patients should ask their physicians if they have washed their hands and to clearly mark surgical sites. the recommendation comes from a Queensland report on clinical errors, according to the Molendinar, Queensland-based Gold Coast Bulletin.
The report comes in the wake of a highly publicized medical error in the country, and addresses the reluctance of physicians and nurses to admit they make mistakes when caring for patients.
