Wyoming Valley Health Care System has moved to electronic recordkeeping as a way to improve patient safety, according to The Citizen's Voice of Wilkes-Barre, PA.

The upgrade allows for better information sharing and more detailed patient histories. Test results and other important information are included in the electronic record so each succeeding caregiver can easily find the information they need.

Other efforts are also underway, including a public room that shows the myriad errors that can occur in a hospital room. The room is used both to train staff and to educate the public, according to the Voice.
