Patient Safety Monitor Alert

November 21, 2007

The Lucian Leape Institute, established in May 2007 by the National Patient Safety Foundation as a think tank exploring the future of patient safety, will hold its first roundtable discussions at its inaugural gala in February 2008. The roundtables, which will be held semiannually, aim to focus on advancing patient safety topics by creating a place for experts to discuss how to do that. These first roundtables will structured around a report to be released in the spring by the Institute, called Transforming Patient Safety: A Conversation.

The five topics for the first roundtables will be: Health professions education, consumer involvement, integrating healthcare organizations, transparency, and joy and meaning in work
