NJ hospitals team up with IHI

The New Jersey Council of Teaching Hospitals will take part in the Institute for Healthcare Improvement's "100,000 Lives" campaign, making it the first statewide collaborative to formally participate in the program, according to a council press release.The 13-hospital organization will launch a rapid-response team intervention program this month as its first step in the collaboration with IHI. The teams are designed to quickly deal with patients whose conditions become unstable during their visit at the hospital. Other measures that meet the goals of the campaign will be launched later in the year. More than 1,800 hospitals have joined in the campaign.
The 100,000 Lives campaign is designed to help hospitals quickly and efficiently adopt the best practices in patient safety in areas like rapid response, medical reconciliation, and infection prevention.
