Long lines for patients at Orlando-area emergency rooms

Wait times at emergency rooms across the country are becoming longer, and this is especially true in Orlando. In May 2007, two campuses of Florida Hospital implemented a 60-minute wait time rule for patients to be seen in the emergency room (ER). This year the rule is being dropped because they can no longer deliver, says The Orlando Sentinel.
Florida hopes to reduce its crowded waiting rooms by providing more affordable insurance to the state's 3.8 million uninsured. However, others disagree and say the average 90-minute ER wait time will not go down anytime soon because of state and federal budget cuts.
