As the government continues to focus on promoting the implementation of health information technology at U.S. hospitals, a new study finds that increased computerization has not reduced costs or increased efficiency thus far, reports HealthLeaders Media.
The study, Hospital computing and the costs and quality of care: A national study, was published in the November 20, 2009 American Journal of Medicine. One positive finding in conjunction with increased computerization was a slight bump in quality scores.
