House members to Obama: Key to economic health is in nation’s hospitals

One hundred thirty members of the House of Representatives recently addressed President Obama in a letter stating the importance of hospitals in today's economic crisis, reports AHA News.
The House of Representatives expressed their excitement toward working closely with Obama in addressing the problems the nation faces. The letter urges him to "keep in mind the necessity of maintaining the economic health of our nation's hospitals as a very real and viable part of the solution."
With the initial introduction carried out by Reps. Robert Brady (D-PA) and Joe Wilson (R-SC), the letter requests that the new administration invest immediately in healthcare information and technology systems as well as grant hospitals access to federal government loan guarantees for construction, renovation, and upgrades.
