Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs to partner on EHR

President Obama announced last week that the Department of Defense (DOD) and the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will work together on creating an electronic health record for members of the military. The partnership, called the Joint Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record, will allow for a smoother transition of a member of military's healthcare records when he or she transitions from the DOD to the VA.
