As Georgia hospital prepares to open new wing, patient safety a top priority

Houston Medical Center in Warner Robbins, GA, is opening a new tower this month, reports The Sun News. To ensure the transition goes smoothly and patients being transported are kept safe, the hospital is using a 22-page checklist covering all of the actions needing to be taken. To prepare, staff members are taking part in drills and exercises. After each round of transferring patients, staff members will meet to discuss how the day went and any safety issues that arose.
